‘One-to-one tutors’

Academic Appointments are responding to the new government initiative to provide one-to-one tuition in English and Maths.
All teachers who are committed to becoming one-to-one tutors are required by the Government to attend a training session with an appropriate organisation. As an Education Leeds Supply Framework agency, Academic Appointments are authorised to deliver tutor training sessions.
If you can say yes to one of the following –
• have QTS
• are an NQT
• have an overseas teaching qualification
• have an FE qualification
• are close to completing a teacher training course which leads to QTS
and you also –
• have experience of delivering English or Maths at Primary or Secondary level
• are able to commit to delivering a total of ten hours tuition to each pupil (please note that this is often delivered over a period of ten weeks)
• have a current Criminal Records Bureau check, or are willing to obtain one
and you would like to join our growing list of staff able to cover such vacancies, this training seminar is for you.
The two-hour seminar will cover a variety of topics including:
• Understanding the roles and responsibilities of a One-to-One Tutor
• Getting started in school
• Getting to know your students
• Pedagogy
*There is no charge to staff already registered with us, a fee of £20 is payable by those not registered.
Light refreshments will be provided during the session.
