Sally, is our Permanent Recruitment Coordinator and is currently leading Guidance, which is our permanent, leadership and consultancy service for schools and multi-academy trusts.
Sally works extremely hard to find educational specialists their dream roles. Recently Sally received extremely positive feedback from Liz, Teacher of Business Studies who secured a permanent position with a school in Halifax for September 2018.
Liz, came into to our Leeds Office to register in February after spending the last 3 years out of teaching due to personal circumstances, but she was keen to return back to the classroom in a permanent teaching role. As Liz had been out of the classroom for a period of time, it was important that Sally found the perfect role and school for her. In July, Sally was in touch with a school in Halifax who was recruiting for a Business and ICT Teacher to join them from September. Sally knew this school could be perfect for Liz, however also knew Liz was only looking to teach solely Business Studies. A meeting was set up and the school were left blown away by Liz. After speaking with both the school and Liz, we were able to negotiate a teaching timetable that was perfect for both.
Liz started her role a couple of weeks ago now and is thoroughly enjoying it. She feels extremely supported by her department, as well as the senior management team, and she feels the school couldn’t be better suited for her.
“At a time of looking for work again, I registered with a few different agencies in the hope of finding my ideal job.
Academic appointments were far superior in their standards of customer/client service and understanding of my personal circumstances than many of the other agencies. Upon registering, I was introduced to the staff at academic appointments and was made to feel very welcome by all.
As the academic year went on I had regular contact from the staff and in particular with Sally. Every job opportunity that arose she contacted me to see if I would consider it even if it didn’t quite meet my personal requirements such as the distance may have been too far etc.
Sally constantly kept me up to date with jobs and worked very hard to find the right job for me. She communicated on my behalf with the schools and negotiated on my behalf to try and reach an agreement to meet both our needs.
Eventually, after a lot of searching, a job came up and Sally jumped straight onto it and informed me immediately. Sally and I had a chat as the job wasn’t quite what I was looking for. She then entered into negotiations with the school on my behalf and managed to secure an adapted job which did meet my requirement. Sally and I talked regularly to update me with the school’s requirements and she then managed to secure an interview for me within a few days.
Sally gave me some really good advice in preparation for the interview along with some confidence which I also needed at the time.
I was successful at interview and I am now looking forward to the challenges that a new job brings.
I cannot thank Sally enough for her sheer determination and professionalism in finding me a role and her very committed, dedicated and professional attitude to both me and my new school and I will fully recommend Academic Appointments to everyone I know or come across who is looking for work
Thank you, Sally, for everything you were and are amazing!
