Academic Appointments to do their thing for BBC Children in Need

The Academic Appointments team are to do their bit to raise money for disadvantaged children and young people right here in the UK

Employees at Academic Appointments Ltd will be supporting ‘The Big Spotacular’ by going spotty in the office as they set out to support and fundraise for BBC Children in Need's 2016 Appeal. Money raised will go on to support disadvantaged children and young people all across the UK.

On Friday the whole team will leave our business suits on the hangers and dress in the spottiest outfits we can find! Anyone who doesn’t come in spots will be attacked with face paint! They’ll be a tombola and games throughout the day!

BUT the best bit… Our Managing Director has agreed to donate £2 to Children in Need for every booking we receive throughout Friday AND she will also make a contribution dependant on the total number of candidates we have out working and the total number of schools we support that day!

Working with schools and education professionals across Yorkshire this last year has more than ever shown that our children need our help. As a business we have always supported Children in Need by donating our total £1 dress down Friday fee or taking on individual sponsored events but this year we felt we needed to do more!

Academic Appointments work in partnership with Leeds City Council to support Children Looked After in and around the city, so it makes perfect sense that we give back to them in other ways too wherever possible.

Speaking of their plans, Pete Riley said: 'I have supported this charity for many years. Through work and my involvement as a School Governor. Kids across the city have this imprinted in their psyche along with Easter, Halloween and Christmas. It’s our chance as a specialist Education Recruiter to “do our bit”, give something back and support a worthwhile cause. Bit nervous though, if I can’t find some spotted attire to wear on Friday apparently I am at the mercy of the staff and the face paint… Anything could happen!'

Keep an eye out on our social media for updates from 'Colton' our very own fundraising mascot, throughout the day!

BBC Children in Need works throughout the year to ensure that every child in the UK has a safe, happy and secure childhood, and the chance to reach their full potential. It relies on the energy and commitment of thousands of fundraisers and supporters across the UK, who donate their time and money to put on events supporting the Appeal. Whether doing your baking thing, your fancy-dress party thing or your challenge thing, every penny raised will help support projects across the UK.
