Here at Academic Appointments, we really appreciate our candidates and the hard work that they provide in schools, which is why we developed the 'Candidate of the Term' Award!
Nominations this term came in thick and fast which is why it took the team so long to choose a winner!
The winner of 'Candidate of the Term' was Jennifer, one of our teachers at Academic Appointments. Waverley Primary Academy nominated Jennifer for the following reason, "Jennifer started with us in September 2016. She very quickly settled into the academy and within 2 months became a member of the middle leadership team, leading maths throughout the academy and has recently been awarded a TLR3. She has been proactive in working towards securing rapid progress for our children in all core subjects, complying with existing policies and rewriting new ones. She has demonstrated her ability to lead and support staff and always comes to see me with solutions as opposed to problems. She has built up excellent and professional relationships with children, parents and staff and is now established as a valuable and committed member of the Waverley family and SLT. Jennifer is moving from strength to strength and it has been a pleasure and a privilege to witness her confidence and skills grow in such a short time".
Well done to Jennifer for winning our 'Candidate of the Term' award, and thank you to Waverley Primary Academy in South Yorkshire for taking part in our 'Candidate of the Term' award.
We would also like to take this opportunity to say well done to candidates who were also nominated for the following reasons;
Amanda was nominated by Bradford Academy, "Amanda joined us in September and has fit in as part of our staff perfectly. She is extremely conscientious, organised and goes way beyond what we would expect from a supply teacher. She attends training, stays for electives after school and is always here early in the morning to plan and prepare for her day. She feels like a permanent member of out team".
Lisa, Our Tuition Lead nominated Tutor Alex due to the amount of positive feedback she had received. The below reasons are why Lisa nominated Alex;
"J actually cheered when I told her Alex would continue tutoring her! Alex liaises well with me around the content of the sessions and is very open to structure them around any difficulties I feel J has had in her current studies at school. J looks forward to her sessions and is more than happy to do any homework set".
"I was worried that R would not engage as prior to the tuition he didn't see the point, however, he has actively and enthusiastically taken part in these sessions and I really think this is down to the approach that Alex takes, she makes the sessions fun and interesting and R looks forward to them each week".
"I am very happy with the additional tutor work that Alex provides J on a weekly basis. Alex is very understanding of J and his needs and the work provided for J along with his homework is always to a high standard".
"Alex has the pupils engaged and is a lovely tutor, the pupils always look forward to her coming".
Hendel Primary School in South Yorkshire nominated Gina for the following reason, "I would like to nominate Gina for Candidate of the Term. She has been such a dedicated, hardworking and positive addition to our team. We have had some lovely comments from parents and staff singing her praises saying how lovely she is with the children, and how pleasant she is to work with. Nothing is too much trouble for her and she has fitted in immediately into school as if she has always been here. She makes sure the children's books are all marked and kept up tp date and is evening doing an Open Afternoon tomorrow for her class. Well done Gina you thoroughly deserve this award!".
Academic Appointments would like to thank all the above schools and carers for their nominations and taking part in 'Candidate of the Term'!
Make sure to keep an eye out for when Steven, Senior Primary Consultant in South Yorkshire will be presenting Jennifer with her certificate and £50 worth of Love2shop vouchers.
