You don’t have to be a ‘teacher’ to teach…

The skills and expertise that our qualified teachers hold is undoubtable not to mention hugely respected in the Academic Appointments office, but we are also aware that there are many people without teaching qualifications who can impact positively in education.

If you look up ‘teacher’ in a dictionary you may find the following definitions:

  • Impart knowledge to or instruct (someone) as to how to do something
  • Give information about or instruction in a subject or skill
  • Cause (someone) to learn or understand something by example or experience

So, to teach, you don’t have to be a ‘teacher’, you must be someone passionate about imparting knowledge, with the ability to give instructions and share examples or experiences.

Academic Appointments recognise that these are amazing qualities that should be recognised, appreciated and celebrated. We work closely with Pupil Referral Units, Alternative Provisions and Special Educational Needs schools, ensuring that young learners benefit from the wealth of life experiences and skills you have to offer.

If you are one of these fabulous people, not having a teaching qualification shouldn’t stop you from making a difference. One quick call could change your life forever, and who knows how many lives you will go on to change.
