Academic Appointments are currently working alongside an Alternative Provision in the Wakefield, West Yorkshire area to appoint a Vocational Tutor of Motor Vehicle Studies, who is passionate about providing the best possible education for vulnerable students.
The provision works in partnership with local primary and secondary schools to provide an alternative education for SEMH pupils that have been permanently excluded from school.
Candidates will provide vocational courses and world of work experiences which will enhance the young people’s chances of Post 16 education, apprenticeships and employment.
The candidate will be an excellent workshop practitioner who can evidence successful outcomes for students across a range of ages including City and Guilds (or equivalent), Employability and practical skill for life. Candidates must have experience of working with vulnerable, challenging students and raising their aspirations and outcomes.

This role is due to commence for As soon as possible, on a full-time and ongoing basis. Requirements:
- A teaching qualification is desirable but not essential
- NVQ Level 3 Motor Mechanics, Level 6 or industry equivalent
- Experience of working with challenging behaviours is essential
- You will have resilience, patience and good behaviour management skills
- A valid DBS or be willing to obtain one
- Two references from an educational setting
